Yesterday I attended an 8 hour training to get certified to perform DōTerra ARōMATOUCH technique. I am not licensed in California to touch people so I will be doing this for my family, and as a gift to friends and members of my DōTerra team.
What is the ARōMATOUCH technique?
ARōMATOUCH is a systematic way of applying 8 essential oils along the spine (2 being applied to the feet as well). The essential oils address 4 main health concerns: Stress, Immunity, Inflammation, and bringing Balance (homeostasis) to the body.
What was the training like?
Class was really nice. Heidi (our teacher and my dōTerra mentor), made the class very safe and her teaching was easy to follow. There were about 12 of us women, some who had experience as massage therapists and some of us had no experience massaging.
In the beginning we covered a few basics through a slide presentation and Heidi sharing. Then we watched her give a demo of the technique, explaining everything as she went.
We then had lunch and that was followed with giving a massage, receiving a massage, and assisting with a massage. I think this format really allowed me to go home feeling confident that I could do this. We also have the book which has a step by step guide (with pictures!).
How can you get certified in the ARōMATOUCH technique?
If you are already using dōTerra essential oils your mentor will be able to direct you to get training. If you are new to essential oils or new to dōTerra please contact me and I can help you find a class in your area, or let you know if Heidi and I can come and do one in your area. (We travel as our dōTerra team is all over the USA & Canada).
What surprised me about the class…
I’m not a touchy feely person. (Add in that I am still nursing by baby and that amplifies that by 100x!) But I did know that in my journey of really understanding all the ways I can use these oils I wanted to learn this technique. I was happy to find that for many it felt like a deep tissue massage even though only light pressure was used. The power of the oils really goes in deep.
But what caught me so off guard, was how spiritual of an experience it was to be able to do this for another person. My partner, Tina, and I have only met each other a few times. But when I was able to really focus on serving her and praying for her as I did the technique it was so powerful. I think it helped me tap into a side of myself that I haven’t felt in a while: a physical act of love and service for another person. (Besides my kids who are always hanging on me!)
