Tennis is a fun way to burn calories and enjoy time with your family. You don't have to know how to play tennis in order to be able to go out and have fun with your family and start burning calories. I went to a court in our neighborhood the other day with my husband and I burned 416 calories in just one hour of hitting back and forth!!!
Now, if you were really playing a game or a match I can only imagine what an amazing calorie burn that would be! When I get home from Maui I want to go out and play with my man again and see how many I can burn in an hour because those 416 calories I burned really were from just leisurely hitting back and forth.
I also think a great benefit to doing something like this is time engaging with your spouse. I know that men love to bond while 'doing' something together and who knows, you both may end up really liking tennis. My husband happens to be really good as he played in high school and his whole family loves to play, but I never played before. I'm going to continue playing with him and also take a few lessons because I think it will be something fun we can do together and age doesn't matter.
As for my boys, what kid doesn't want to play a game where you try and hit a ball at your brother or mom and dad? Make it fun, they will get exercise and you will all have plenty of laughs.
