Should you do a cleanse or detox while pregnant (or nursing)?
The first answer is to check with your doctor, but then my answer is NO. There have not been enough studies done to be able to know for sure that the toxins your body releases during a cleanse/detox will for sure not go to your baby or into your breast milk. And for me, that's enough to not risk it.
If you had your heart set on doing a cleanse or detox you can still clean up your eating. While this is not the same as pulling toxins from your body through taking supplements, you can make these changes and not worry that you are putting your baby at risk. (Potential risk, that is. Like I said, there just haven't been studies done to know for sure that it's safe to do a full detox.)
