Why I care about YOUR health and what I do as a Beachbody Coach:
I want to help you get healthy. I want to see you confident. I want to hear of you doing things you didn’t think were possible. I want to see you excited to play with your kids because you have enough energy to do so. I want you wake up and not dread getting dressed because your clothes now fit. I want you to believe that you can do anything you want with your life. I want you to believe that you are worth it. I want you to believe that even a month from now things can be different.
I DON’T care about your abs or some cellulite on your thighs. If you have stretch marks from being overweight or pregnant- join the club. You are not alone. That doesn’t measure your worth or how healthy you are.
What I DO care about is you living a life without regrets and it not being cut short from something that could have been prevented.
In my opinion, there’s more at stake and more going on in our world than we often realize. I believe that throughout history there has been an enemy that has wanted to destroy mankind. Seriously, stay with me just for a minute. For those of you who believe that there is a war of good and evil going on take a minute and think about it. For those of you who don’t, just humor me here. If we are killing ourselves as a society through OVER EATING and NOT EXERCISING, isn’t his job easier? In the USA obesity is the 2nd leading cause of preventable death. Over 60% of our population is overweight.
So you may say you are fine. Are you? Are you energized, fully alert, able to keep up with your kids/spouse/friends? Do you walk into work Monday morning feeling alive and ready to go above and beyond what your boss asks of you because you have abundant energy? Or are you sluggish from lounging around all weekend eating junk food? Are you on medication for something that could be changed through exercise? And aside from the physical stuff, how many times in the last year have you ‘bad mouthed’ yourself based on how you feel about your body? Have these words ran through your head: I’m so lazy, I’m fat, I’m embarrassed to be seen like this, I can’t reach a goal anyway so why bother…? The enemy doesn’t have to just take you out physically to defeat you, if you are out mentally isn’t that just the same?
This isn’t about having a six-pack! Do you know I often struggle with calling myself a fitness/wellness coach and offering to help others when I don’t have the ‘perfect’ body myself? (Whatever that is anyway.) But there again is this mindset we have that if we can’t do everything ‘perfect’ and live up to air brushed models then we should just forget it all together. I read an article in a magazine last week about a Victoria’s Secret model who said she goes on a liquid only diet for 9 DAYS before a show. And yet we are groomed to think that’s what we need to look like? Our society pushes images in our face all the time and we don’t even realize it. To think, that I, within my healthy BMI range, can still be so hard on myself about how I look speaks volumes about this reality. That being a woman dedicated to helping others and a damn good wife and mom can have a ‘down’ day because I don’t feel ‘hot’? So I’m not talking about achieving a certain look, it’s about ENERGY and having something to give. There are skinny people who have no energy and are not healthy, skinny is not the point.
Stretch marks and cellulite are minor details compared to the reality of you not feeling confident, being depressed, discouraged, and mentally out of the game of life. What I am talking about is taking back control of your ENERGY so that you can fully engage in life. What good is all the money, relationships, dreams in the world if you have no energy to engage them? Whatever your dreams and passion are- if your health is holding you back then I would love to help you through one of these programs. They are put together so you just have to follow the schedule, it’s complete with cardio and strength training. Then there is Shakeology, which contains nutrients from around the world to fuel/heal/nourish our bodies like a world class athlete would drink.
At the end of the day I don’t care what program you choose or how you do it; if you are a runner- go run! If you love classes at the gym- GO! Just please choose something. I just know that these programs have worked for me, working out at home is the best option with my kids and my schedule. I’m not a ‘naturally’ active person so I like to do my workout and get on with my day. If that sounds like you- as your Beachbody Coach I now get to help you through these programs.
