When I became an Independent Beachbody coach I didn't understand the hype of Shakeology. I saw the price tag and I saw my budget and the two didn't fit together so it was more reason for me not to believe the hype.
I continued to read about it, hear about it, and on and on but I just thought- $90 a month was too much. (Coach discounted price.) They (the Shakeology lovers!) would always say "you spend $3-4 a day at Starbucks so what's the problem spending that on a glass of 70 ingredients that will totally strengthen your body?" Honestly, I don't spend $3-4 a day at Starbucks. I maybe spend $10 a month there and that's because I'm paying for the social time with friends and don't care about the coffee. I'd go and drink water if I could.
Then my Beachbody coach sent me a sample…
I read the ingredients. And I looked at the website again. Is all that really in this little shake?
I tasted it and it was actually good. (I'm talking about the chocolate; greenberry still isn't my favorite. But the chocolate! No matter how I mix it I enjoy it.)
Now you are probably wondering~ what about your budget? Well, I've been an Independent Coach with Beachbody for 6 months now and I am making enough money to cover it. And honestly knowing all it is doing for my body~totally curbing my sweet tooth, keeping me regular (yeah, that kind of regular), helping me take care of my insides in a way that my exercise program can't do for me–I am hooked.
Even if it wasn't being covered by what I make as a coach I would somehow finagle a way to fit this in our budget. I didn't realize how much it was helping my body until we went on a family trip to Thailand and I didn't bring it. The first few days were no big deal but by day 5 for sure I felt so heavy and found myself eating sweets that I hadn't touched for a while. It was then that I was fully convinced that my body needed the nutrients from this shake. (You may agree with that and think just go to the store and get it. Well, I have the taste buds of a 2 year old, I don't have time to chop and process all those veggies/wheat-grass/68 other ingredients, and besides I would end up spending way more than $3 a meal.)
One other thing that made me a believer in Shakeology is that my husband actually likes it. He's not a chocolate fan because it usually gives him a headache but Shakeology doesn't do that. And he is lactose intolerant and it has never messed up his stomach.
So I've crossed over. I am now one of 'those' people. I feel better when I drink Shakeology and I can't put a price on that. As a Beachbody customer it is $4 a shake and as a coach it's $3. Many people become a coach just for the discount.
Have you tried Shakeology yet? What do you think about it?
