Detox week is here!
My review of Ultimate Reset Week 1 is here. I lost 5.7 pounds during that first week. It's still hard for me to believe that I have lost that much weight and have not been hungry. Yes, I am eating less than I normally would but when I switch out all the junk I used to eat for all these healthy vegetables, nuts, beans, fruits, and healthy grains I have been so full. This week you will notice a few changes to our routine. If you haven't ordered your Reset yet you can do so now.
1. We take the Detox packets 3x a day, 30 minutes before you meal. (At the same time you are taking your other supplements.) I was happy that it didn't taste gross, I was scared it would be similar to the alkanaize. (Which should be taken like a shot!)
2. Goodbye to meat, dairy, and eggs.
Here come the veggies! Today was a hard day for me and it had nothing to do with being hungry. (I did cringe having to eat 1/8 of an avacodo at lunch but I got over it.) I slightly have a sore throat, my kids were just being drama despite my best efforts to create fun playing opportunities, and I just wanted to BAKE SOMETHING! It had nothing to do with the Reset but I was able to take a look into something I'm sure I do all the time. Food is comfort and it's also something to do. I love to bake with the boys. Following the Reset I will be looking for a TON of healthy options for us to cook together once again. I even made Shakeology balls for my boys, chocolate covering my hands and I didn't take 1 bite! So I'm being good, but today just wanted some banana protein muffins!
Weight today: 151.1
It's been a crazy week as my man was traveling! I wasn't able to get my thoughts down each day but I can tell you that this week has been SO much harder for me than the first week. The meals in the first week are something I could totally keep making, but this week you have cut out meat, eggs and dairy which is a different level of commitment.
I also need to say that I am fighting a crazy sore throat and have completely lost my voice. So while many people are saying (in the accountability groups) that they are feeling AMAZING this week, I have to say I don't but it probably has nothing to do with the Reset.
Another thing that has been harder this week is that I have been more active outside the house. So figuring out if I need to sub a meal for a different one (aka went to pumpkin patch with kids and friends and everyone brought packed lunch…cold rice and beans did not sound appealing!) Then wondering if there will be bathrooms available is something else that comes into play, as you are drinking a ton of water everyday.
I also think at this point you need to realize that the novelty is wearing off, at least for me, and several times I've asked myself- WHY are you doing this? It's interesting to see the emotions that come out when we cut out our favorite foods. For many people in the groups weight loss also slows this week so I think that may play into it. Week one it was rewarding to know you followed the plan and woke up to see the scale dropping so fast. We are all reminded that losing weight is not the focus of this, it's detoxing your body, but I think it also added extra motivation.
I sound so blah, and don't mean to be discouraging. I'm just being honest and this week has been really hard for me.
Day 9- 150.6
Day 10- 151
Day 11- 151
Day 12- 151.4
Today was the day I felt the detox 'kicking in' if you know what I mean? I think because of how busy I was Friday and Saturday I didn't drink as much water as I should have been. Yesterday, I was able to drink a ton of water and this morning I could tell when I used the bathroom. Sorry if that is graphic but it is a cleanse so I'm sure some of you may be wondering. The thing is it's never been out of control or even to a liquid point, this is a gentle cleanse.
